Twisted Hate - Ana Huang

I went in to this book very blind, absolutely no idea as to what was about to unfold before my eyes, but as you can tell from the fading name on the book, I did in fact get very into this story and ate it up like it was a plate of pancakes covered in syrup. It was delicious.
And I will not hear any hate for our red head FMC. Jules Ambrose was an entertaining character in my opinion. Did she have her faults? Sure. Did she do some things which probably would have served her better if she just communicated instead? Also, sure. But who hasn't been in that kind of situation? We all make mistakes, life happens, live and learn and all that.
Jules was entertaining to me simply because of her attitude, wanting to show her strength and capability of not needing anyone, but loving to annoy those around her, particularly those she knows are already not fond of her. I can get along with a petty character like that, it gives them a little more to their character and not just someone who follows others like a sheep and has nothing to them. Jules may have been a little repetitive in the way of how she treats people, but Ana (Huang) managed to make it bearable, something that was needed and created a purpose and also some humour throughout the story. So I do rate Jules Ambrose. She was fun and I would definitely read about her again.
Josh Chen??? What a man. Honestly. He was a book boyfriend I did NOT expect, whatsoever. He was brutal at times (which I respect - who doesn't love an honest man?) and he was also funny, someone who once again, has a personality and makes the relationship and story worth reading and makes me want to continue reading. And also the things he does in the bedroom? Excuse me, but, sweet Jesus, my man. Just simply, well done to you. Fair play.
The relationship that grew between the two characters was something believable to me. An enemies to lovers bait that I took and stayed hooked until the very end. There was drama, there was love, there was hate, there was wonder and suspense. It was everything mixed into one big bowl of perfect and created one of the best relationships I have read about within the "popular" books that are trending/have been trending within booktok. And I am so glad that this was the first Ana Huang book that I picked up, because I will definitely be returning for another Ana book in the future.
I will most certainly be back for another book if the spice is as good as it was in this book, because, WOW🔥. The heat I felt rising in my cheeks when I read the scenes within the book was absolutely wild! I found myself hiding the book away if there were others around me or simply putting the book down because I didn't want others seeing the look on my face when Josh Chen was ready to show the man he is. (With no spoilers) there is one scene in particular, a very angry in the moment scene and good heavens, I found myself jaw open and giggling throughout.
Huang is great with her writing and shows a great build up within her characters, creating a slow-burn that leaves the reader wanting more, that leaves you thinking "will this go the way I think it will?" and then doing a full 360 turn and dropping a plot twist in there that was not expected. I stayed up till the early hours of the morning to finish this book, simply because I could not believe what I had read and didn't want to leave it on a negative note.
Jules and Josh are definitely a couple that I would personally recommend taking the journey with and giving a chance on their story. It is a rollercoaster of emotions and gives a great story throughout. Huang really did an amazing job at making their personalities shine through and in showing the development between the two characters and also the development within them as a separate being. It was such a fun read for me and would be a recommendation to those who fancy a fun enemies to lovers with just a sprinkle of drama.
Let me know what you think of this book or if there are any that you would personally recommend!
Happy reading guys and gals!
