Nocticadia - Keri Lake

Nocticadia - Keri Lake ⭐ - 5 🌶 - 5 This book was absolutely amazing. It was addictive, it was fun, it was emotional and it was a great story with such interesting characters and plot twists.  The story is based on our two main characters - Lilia and Devryck. Lilia is a poor girl who lives in a small flat with her mother's partner - her mother has been deceased for a while. Lilia believes she knows the real way her mother passed, however, no one will listen to her about this and she therefore has no one to confide in. Throughout this, her sister is in a special school that costs a lot of money, and Lilia has to find a way to pay for the funding. Her sister suffers from some traumas due to the loss of her mother and Lilia took on the role of her 'protecter', being the reason she was sent to this school as she wanted her to have a better, happier life.  Lilia is then invited to become a student at Dracadia University, something she did not believe was in her future. However, ...

Lights Out - Navessa Allen

Lights Out - Navessa Allen ⭐ - 3.8 🌶 - 4 This was quite a wild read for me, because I did not expect the plot to be what it was, and it made my whole outlook on the book a little 50/50. I really enjoyed the first half of the book and where it was going with the plot of 'masked stalker man' and the reader knowing who he is, but the FMC being in the dark. The second half of the book threw me off a little bit and felt like a whole trope change - but nevertheless, we finished her (the book, I mean).  Starting off, the blurb was enough for me to put this book on pre-order and take a chance on a tiktok masked man who is clearly addictive in more ways than one, which is what made it an interesting plot because it was tailored towards the modern day romance reader and was something that (as an avid 'tiktok sensation book' reader) is relatable as a guilty pleasure (we all do it, we're all friends here, no shame or lies) and so making that into a plot AND making him a stal...

Say You Swear - Meagan Brandy

Say You Swear - Meagan Brandy ⭐ - 5 🌶 - 2.5 This book. THIS DAMN BOOK!  It took my heart, shredded it, danced all over it and then healed it back together with the man that is...Noah Riley.  There are good book boyfriends and there are steamy book boyfriends. And then you get the golden retriever, would do anything for her, love you softly forever boyfriend, and he is called Noah Riley. He made this book absolutely PERFECT and I wish, oh wow do I wish, that I could go back and read this book again. I had to sit with myself for a good while once I finished this book and recalibrate my brain to try be ok with the fact that it was over. But nothing was good enough. NOTHING worked. This book straight up put me in a book slump for over a month because I was so sad I couldn't read it again and that I had to allow in a new story and characters to my life.  But alas, the reading slump broke and she was able to move on to other boyfriends (she's lying, I want more. Meagan p...

Does It Hurt?- H.D Carlton ⭐ - 4 🌶 - 4.5 Ok, so, hear me out. I enjoyed this book, a lot. And think it is simply a great read because it is not like anything I have ever read before, in my life! What is messed up? Oh yeah, in certain areas of this book, most definitely it had areas that made me think WTF? But not in a "I'm gonna put this down now" way, because not once did I put this book down. In fact I spent two days binging it because I was so intrigued by what was going on.  I know there are some negative ratings about this book and I do understand why, due to the content that is within, however, if you know what you're getting yourself in for, then I don't think you will be disappointed. At the end of the day, you chose an H.D Carlton book. You will NOT be getting a rainbows and butterflies college romance from this woman. You will be getting the rough and dirty, weird and questionable story with a very morally great main character. And I personally LOVE a...

Twisted Hate - Ana Huang

Twisted Hate - Ana Huang ⭐ - 3.8 🌶 - 4 I went in to this book very blind, absolutely no idea as to what was about to unfold before my eyes, but as you can tell from the fading name on the book, I did in fact get very into this story and ate it up like it was a plate of pancakes covered in syrup. It was delicious. And I will not hear any hate for our red head FMC. Jules Ambrose was an entertaining character in my opinion. Did she have her faults? Sure. Did she do some things which probably would have served her better if she just communicated instead? Also, sure. But who hasn't been in that kind of situation? We all make mistakes, life happens, live and learn and all that.  Jules was entertaining to me simply because of her attitude, wanting to show her strength and capability of not needing anyone, but loving to annoy those around her, particularly those she knows are already not fond of her. I can get along with a petty character like that, it gives them a little more to th...

Credence - Penelope Douglas

⭐ - 4/5 🌶 - 5/5 (No Spoilers) I'm going to start this review off by saying, this may not be for everyone and that is completely ok. If you aren't a "why choose" lover or even a "step-family" lover, then this book is not for you. But if you are, then my oh my are you in for the time of your life! I went into this book with a little bit of knowledge on what it was about but I was not expecting it to hit as hard as it did with the content. On first opinion, it was a little hard to get on board with as I've never read anything quite along the lines of this trope before. However, as I kept going, I realised I was becoming unable to put it down because I simply needed to know more and to see where it was going and have my questions answered on why I was craving more of Uncle Jake with each chapter. Within the story, we have our 4 main characters - Tiernan, Jake, Noah and Kaleb. The basics of the story (for those who haven't read it yet) is Tiernan is the ...

Little Stranger - Adalyn Grace

⭐ - 4.5/5 🌶 - 4/5  (No Spoilers) Honestly, I don't know where to begin with this book. But I will start with saying that it took me under 2 days to read because I was completely addicted to how exceptionally wrong the storyline is, and that made it exceptionally good and worth the hours put into understanding and loving the mind that is Malachi Vize. If you're a dark romance fan and you're looking for your next best read, then I highly recommend the revelation that is Little Stranger. I cannot continue to express the opinion that this book was like a drug to me and I thank Leigh Rivers everyday for creating such a messed up, deranged, insane and beautiful character that makes me question everything about myself. The story follows the Vize family, made of a loving couple who choose to foster children, starting with the main character named Olivia and a few years later fostering a young boy named Malachi. From meeting one another, Malachi claims Olivia to be 'his' an...
